The La Brea Tar Pits

by michaelpeople on February 9, 2012

We would walk to the museums from our house a lot while we were in Los Angeles. One of my favorite places was the La Brea Tar Pits. It is right next to the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, we call it L.A.C.M.A.. It is a giant pit of tar in the middle of the city where they dig up bones of prehistoric animals. In front of the museum next to a guy who sings and plays banjo and guitar is a statue of a sabertooth cat. A lot of people call them sabertooth tigers, but I learned there that they are really called sabertooth cats. The statue is white, but I colored it yellow.
