Washington D.C.

Washington D.C. is the capital of our country. It was named after George Washington. D.C. stands for District of Columbia. Washington D.C. is not a part of any state, it is a city. It lies on the Potomac river. There are over 300 monuments and statues there. My family went to D.C. Last summer and we took a tour of the Capitol Building. Under the building there are a lot of tunnels with tons of shops in them. We got to go in to the Congress room, but they weren’t in session. There were a lot of domes with cool designs on them. I think if I ever got the chance to go any where in the world, I would go back to D.C..
