12 x 2 = 24 Carousel Animals

Quinn has been doing so well with his Math since we started our home school adventure. He has mastered addition and subtraction of numbers of all lengths no matter how high you stack them and he is now multiplying one, two, and even three digit numbers. As we now move into division we decided to set out on a real world multiplication hunt. One day we rode our scoters down to the T station and headed out all over town, to the Zoo, Boston Commons, and the Public Garden, our quest covered a lot of ground. I brought along my camera and whenever Quinn spotted and example of a multiple he would point it out to me and then tell me the equation that would correspond. Here is what he found;

1 x 2 = 2 Ostriches

1 x 3 = 3 Bongos

20 x 4 = 80 Small Fence Posts

1 x 4 = 4 Park Benches

2 x 4 = 8 Glass Panels

8 x 3 = 24 Glass Panels

4 x 2 = 8 Egg Shaped Hedges

3 x 5 = 15 Palm Trees

7 x 8 = 56 Rectangular Windows

3 x 9 = 27 Square Holes
