Chess: Future Master

by michaelpeople on May 7, 2011

This week my Dad taught me how to play chess. Chess is played on the same board as checkers, but the pieces move different. A Pawn can only move forward one space, or diagonal to eat a piece. A Knight can move in an “L” shape. The Bishop can move diagonal as many spaces as you want. The Rook can move as many spaces as you want too, but only forward, backward, and sideways. The Queen can move as far as she wants in any direction. The King can only move one space at a time and if you lose him, you lose the game. Chess is a lot of fun. You have to think a lot more than in Checkers. I like taking pieces from my opponent.
